About Helvetas

Helvetas is an independent development organization headquartered in Switzerland, with affiliated branches in Germany and the United States. HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is a member-based, non-profit association, present in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Central asia and Eastern Europe.

Vision is of a just world in which all men and women determine the course of their lives in dignity and security, using environmental resources in a sustainable manner.

Helvetas Bangladesh

Since its establishment in 2000, Helvetas has played a pivotal role in Bangladesh's development. Its diverse portfolio encompasses economic growth and migration, climate change mitigation, sustainable development, governance and rights, as well as humanitarian and emergency interventions. Helvetas continues to make significant contributions to improving the lives of people in Bangladesh.

Shamortha Plus

HELVETAS lunches USAID funded project named “USAID Feed the Future Shamortha Plus Activity” on November 2022. The goal of this project is to “improve business resilience of the COVID-19 affected food processing sector as well as increase employment opportunities for marginalized groups in Bangladesh”. This project has already endeavored employment prospects for 6,000 marginalized women and youth through skill development and employment promotion programs. Furthermore, the project has provided upskilling opportunities for 2,500 existing workforce members in food processing companies impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
